A magnificant hot cast bronze lion with a wild boar - styled on the works of Antoine Louis Bayre. Known as the greatest animal sculptor of the ninteenth century, Bayre was renowned for his sculptures of wild animals - the theme which dominated most of his work. He was captivated by their nature, strength and suppleness and his work continues to be a major source of inspiration for many of today's sculptors.

Cast using the traditional lost wax method - the detail is incredible and comes mouted on a solid black and grey veined marble base.
