A heavy, hot cast bronze (no resin) sculpture created using the lost wax method and mounted on a dark and light brown veined solid marble base. There is a signature, a foundry stamp and the number 8 carved into the side of the bronze.

The creation of this sensuous, exotic, Art Deco dancing lady pays homage to the works of prominent Romanian sculptor and artist Demetre Chiparus (1886-1947) who produced some of the world's most spectacular and sought after sculptures.

This lovely piece has all the influence of the theatre upon which he based many of his designs. Even as a reproduction, this incredibly detailed sculpture is a perfect reminder of the originals of yesteryear. She is lying on her side with her left arm behind her head and is wearing an exotic bodice and skirt with a typical Art Deco style headdress. Her face is very pretty and so typical of the effort Chiparus made when sculpting beauties of his time.
