A heavy, hot cast bronze (no resin) sculpture created using the lost wax method and mounted on a dark and light green veined solid marble base. There is a foundry stamp and the number 27 carved into the base of the bronze.

The creation of this sensuous, exotic, Art Deco dancing lady pays homage to the works of prominent Romanian sculptor and artist Demetre Chiparus (1886-1947) who produced some of the world's most spectacular and sought after sculptures.

This lovely piece has all the influence of the ballet and theatre upon which he based many of his designs. Even as a reproduction, this incredibly detailed sculpture is a perfect reminder of the originals of yesteryear. She is barefoot and wears a short skirt, an erotic bodice and an exotic headdress. Her face is very pretty and so typical of the effort Chiparus made when sculpting beauties of his time.
