One of the greatest English poets and authors of the 17th Century, John Milton (1608 - 1674) is propably best known for his epic poem Paradise Lost, published in 1674. Milton was writing at a time of religious and political flux in England and he was an accomplished, scholarly man of letters, a polemical writer and an official in the government of Oliver Cromwell. This stunning bonded marble bust has been faithfully reproduced from the original by M Noble (circa 1865) and is crafted using 90% white Italian Carrara marble giving it an authentic look and feel. The inscription on the front reads John Milton.
