Large MARBLE LION AND BOAR - After Bayre

A magnificant marble lion with a wild boar - styled on the works of Antoine Louis Bayre. Known as the greatest animal sculptor of the ninteenth century, Bayre was renowned for his sculptures of wild animals and he was captivated by their nature, strength and suppleness. His work continues to be a major source of inspiration for many of today's sculptors.

Hand crafted using 90% white Italian Carrara marble, this sculpture has an authentic look and feel and is a perfect replica of the hand carved original. It forms part of our new range of some the finest reproduction marble sculptures, reliefs and busts available today.
